FC seats in a fb
ok i asked on the fb email list and got no reply. to install fc vert seats in to a fb do i use the stock fc vert seat rails? the stock fb rails dont line up to all the seat holes.
i couldnt find any seats i liked untill i found some chrystler conquest black leather seats for 50 at j yard they were in great shape but man the passenger was raised a little bit up and the driver was lowered which i liked now my head doesnt hit the roof anymore you can make any seat fit just takes some creativity and tools

The GXL/TII seats fit in my FB with a little work. The passenger seat drops right in with no changes. I took the dremel to the driver's side rails and slotted the mounting holes a bit larger and then it dropped in. Much better than the FB seats! Only problem is they sit slightly higher at the front so now my legs really rub the steering wheel. Time to get an aftermarket wheel, hub, and spacer!

i used to have 2ed gen gxl seats installed, didn't like them sat to high. bolted right up. then got a set of -SE seats, bolted right up. now i've got some t2 seats and 3 of the 4 bolt holes line up. but the t2 seats (cloth) feel good and the bolsters hold you 'in' real good. don't have as many adjustments as the -SE seats though.
the gxl seats do have bolsters the same size as the t2's but t2 seats you sink into more so the bolsters feel 'taller'

When you put t2 seats in a first gen there is no drilling required at all to whomever suggested the dremel. Passenger side is a drop in and on the drivers side T2 you must swap out one of the rails (can't remember if left or right) off the 1st gen seat that came out of the car. Done.

Seat forward or back (Under seat lever)
Backrest lean forward or back (Rear lever to the left of the driver's seat)
Entire seat tilt up and down (Front lever to the left of teh driver's seat)
Lumbar support (Lever on backrest... At least on passenger's seat. I don't remember if the driver's has it.)
Headrest up or down (yank)

The 3 out of 4 holes was true with my seat too but to slot that 4th hole to fit would have opened it too far and made it unsafe. By slotting the rail on the driver's side towards the door and slotting the other rail towards the tranny tunnel, it dropped right in.
yeah, the -SE seats have the forward/backward slide, tilt ,lumbar twist **** on the drivers seat ,forward / backward recline , headrest(s) , and ...... the passanger seat has a recline lever on the (inside) left side for the driver to reach easy. t2 seats have no headrest adjustment , no tilt , no lumbar adjustment,, nothing just slide forward/backward and recline. at least mine are like that .
the pass seat has 3 outa 4 bolts from the fb rails in to the vert seat. The drivers only did 2 outa 4. This isnt a good idea if you A. drive it like you SHOULD....(i broke the seat frame in my 81 gsl "THE BEAST" with 3 outa 4 bolts in it) or B. are doing this in a 16 year old boys 1st car.... and he has been shown what a stock gs, moded gsl, stock gsl-se,stock t2, and a nicely moded fd...and a 8....perform like....
Now if i wanted him to buy aftermarket seats i could point him to the place i got mine....monacousa I LOVE them....other than 2 things... the pass seat is about 1" taller than the drivers seat when installed... i think its a issue with the rails... and i had to get new headrests made as they hit the roof.... I got the seats @1/2 price as they were made for somebody and they never got them... they are a killer support/fit I think way beter than t2 and fd seats and they have a much more durrable covering than 99% of the aftermarket race seats.... i HATE that cheap *** cotton crap that momo, spearco, and all the ebay ricers seats are done in.
it all depends on the model and how much money. there are some recarro's that have heat , message , and have a hand pump. come with a full frame/rails and are fully adjustable. around $ 1,200 dollors and up. thats for a grand touring type car. a race car seat is a fibreglass or carbon fibre shell with a material thats removable and no mounting frame and is not adjustable. those are the light weight seats. and can cost $400.00 dollors and up. i would guess the drivers seat is used much more then the passanger seat and the result is a seat that is smushed while the passanger seat is not. if you remove the seats from your 1st gen and then sit on the floor board
the frame/rails really are tall.
the frame/rails really are tall.
