i found that when i swapped over my turbo II seats into my FB that one of the bolts on the drivers side didnt quite line up correctly, however it was just far enough from the other hole that drilling and tapping it out worked using the same bolt

I had the same problem on one of my 1st gens about a year back. The runner from the seat didn't line up with the hole. Solution: I sat in the seat while I reached down to thread in the bolt by hand. I guess the pressure flared out the frame of the seat or something. Anyway it should be a direct bolt in unless the floor pan is bent or the seat rail is bent.

second gen seats using first gen sliders...

Here, I mounted the 2nd gen seats to the original 1st gen sliders; custom upholestry. 2nd gen seats were $50 from the boneyard, then another $200 to re-cover. I plan to use the same 1st gen sliders for new Mazdaspeed or used RX8 seats this year, though.

I have a question about putting FC seats into a FB. Are the FC seats any higher? As it is I don't have all that much room between the seat and the steering wheel, I have enough now as long as I tilt the seat down, but if FC seats are much higher it just won't do.
