I am in the process of installing an FC cooler into my 85 fb. On the cooler, there is one hose fitting on the top and one on the side. On a 12a, there are oil line fittings on the front and on the driver rear side of the engine. I am trying to install my oil lines, but which goes to which?

 

Front cover is your outlet while rear plate is the oil inlet.

I cant remember exactly where the FC oil fittings are located but the top is usually the inlet.

 

^He's right. Got the same thing on mine. Top line comes from front cover, side goes to the rear.
