FC Coil swap: beating a dead horse.

Okay I have done the FC leading coil swap on my 1st gen ignition setup (in my FC lol) and I kinda just wired it quickly to test and see how well it would work. turns out it works great! I just need to plug the open spots on the cap. but my question is...

I don't need the stock leading coil anymore do i?

1. If I tidy up the wiring I still have the + wire of the leading FB coil wire left. Can I attach that line (circled in green) to the + side of the FC coil?
2. New tach input? I assume I can just tap into the - side of the FC coil then?

Ideally I want to eliminate this coil because I don't need it.

I took the + and - wires from the leading coil and attached them to the corresponding terminals on the 2G coil. The leading coil is now redundant, though I left it in place.

You don't need your leading coil now, the 2G coil is the replacement.

The + wire from the old leading can be used on the 2G coil or not if you already have + wired up.
In this case its not like more is better.

Your tach can just be wired off the - of the trailing. If you don't have trailing then you can put on the - of the 2G coil. Should work fine.

You might want to direct wire the + from the battery to the coil and use a relay triggered by
the + from the harness. You'll get more reliable and better juice to the coils that way.

Thats what I figured but I wasn't sure. The battery is in the trunk, the ignition gets its voltage from the B+ post on the alternator. Also, there is no stock harness on this vehicle.
