FC Arm Rest in FB!!!

i had this arm rest left over from my first rx7, an 87 TII... i pulled it when i stripped the interior, and left it out... well i wound up keeping it just like i kept the license plate after i wrecked that car, and today, i was starting the grey interior swap, and had a brain storm... i pulled out my FC arm rest, and mocked it up, and it was almost a perfect fit! so i pulled off the panel, pulled out the "Security" light, and the blank beside it, pulled out the mirror adjustor switch thing, cut out the hole for the mirror adjust piece, and put my speaker fade/balance switch in... i cut out the mounting brackets for the window roll up/down switches, jb welded a piece of plastic to the side, smoothed down the top of the mounting brackets, spread jb weld all over the top of them, and C clamped em to the FC's panel... i still need to JB weld the fade/balance switch to the panel, and i still need to modify the mounting parts for the FC's arm rest, but heres some pics, including one of it mocked up! i think it'll look great when i get a grey dash for this thing, and man i love the FC arm rest too...

looks nasty and it's too tall. right now my arm rests on that for a perfect shifting position. maybe if the colors matched.

the colors will match dude, thats the purpose of doing a grey interior swap(yes the seats are blue, but thats the least of my worries.) and too tall? i'd have to disagree, its just as tall as it was in my TII... i love that style arm rest, much more cushioning, and looks better imo

It looks nice, but I have to agree with Misthael that it is too tall.

I am short, if that were my car I would constantly be banging my arm on it.

But if you like, and are comfortable with it, that is all that matters

Ya but the shifter is in a different place in the FC that all I am getting at.

The hight of the Arm rest and the hight of the shifter are designed to go together with one an other. You know erganomics. That is all I am getting at.

But it does look good

Man you are tall I am only 5'2"...
