FB Sighted in Dayton!

I hope you are on the forums,

I spotted an AMAZING Beige GSL with a bra. OMG, you are lucky, that was one cherry car. I hope the engine looks as good and a factory original as the rest of your car.

If you arent on the forums, next time I will just chase you, you cant beat the
GT-S

Chris

....
Also if you are from the dayton area, or even nearby. Let me know! I am always wanting to meet other rotary owners.

I only chase 1st gens.... Yup, although if I see any Rx-7 owner in a parking lot then I have to stop. We rotary owners sure are unique, we just assume because someone uses the same unusual powerplant for transportation, that they must be our friends..... Try that on an Rx-8 owner....

Was talking to some kid at a Sunoco station, went about like this....

Me -- "Hey, an Rx-8, pretty cool"
Kid -- "Yeah I just got it not to long ago"
*I notice the 30 day tags*
Me -- "Neat, I have been considering getting one."
Me -- "I have an Rx-7 so it seems natural"
Kid -- "What in the f*&K is an Rx-7?
*Jaw Drops*
*Me points to meh 7*
Kid -- "Dude, definately get an Rx-8, that thing is hideous, no wonder they stopped making it"

Needless to say I walked away before I pummeled someone for offending my car, Although now I just want to race one and see how it stacks up to my FB. For some reason I dont think it will....

I just realized I typed *offended my car*.... we Rx-7 owners also seem to personify our vehicles......

Oh well.....

You should've told him that "typically when they're 25+ years old they stop making them, dumbass"

Dude, the FB > Rx8 in appearance. The Rx8 looks like that wife you married ten years ago and she managed to gain 100 lbs throughout those ten years. Sure you love her because of what is on the inside, but no longer can she do the trick for you. You need that FB you fell in love with. =D

And yeah, when someone calls my car ugly I get offended. Then I realize that chances are they don't even know anything about the engine under the hood, and if they do they simply don't understand it. What makes me more upset than anything is when someone says "Yeah, I don't like rotary engines because they blow up too easily."

I seriously walked away from him, but I am willing to bet he thinks the rotary is "new"
Yeah the Rx-8 does look alright, but it doesnt have the pure unmolested lines of a purebred sports car. Heck the FD really doesnt have that look either, but I would buy one for a DD. I am tired of working on my own cars, I am a mechanic by trade, so I work on cars all day. I would get an Rx-8 simply because its new, has a warranty, and has a rotary But I love doing work on the FB, so simple and straight-forward.

Without proper maintainence from someone rotary savy, they do tend to blow up...... That comment just means they are an idiot, dont even grace them with an arguement.

Exactly. I would buy an Rx8 but simply for those reasons as well. My FB is where my heart lies. When I get the money for an old school 911, that will be up there as well. An Rx8 would only serve as the Daily Driver.

That is exactly why it pisses me off so much. To someone who knows how to maintain one they are bulletproof. For someone that just wants something to thrash on, not change oil in, and don't care if the coolant is good or bad or full or whatever, they'll blow and its because of those kids that they get such a bad rep. I can't stand it.

Meh, you get used to it. And just scoff or snicker when someone says it. I for one am tired of getting angry over it, because you cant get them to think any other way...

Yes, you are quite the passive person.

Just make sure you stay out of the lounge.

I am on another forum for my friend, basically they are all Regal and Grand Prix people, and one of the members mentioned that they were thinking about trading in their GP and buying an Rx8 for reliability purposes. Most of the board went off. I said my peace, and everyone kept quiet afterwards, other than the fact that Subaru was brought up afterwards and people started in on them.

I used to go to the lounge. But I have slight anger issues at times, so I just try to steer clear of there as much as possible.
