Fb rear coilovers setups?
Fb rear coilovers setups?
Hello, im creeping towards the end of the chasis restoration and I'm looking for options on the rear. Now I've looked at 3 or 4 different threads on different places and alot of them recommend the Bc racing coilovers for the rear, but I've heard many times that the rear shock mount isn't strong enough for coils, are the bc's the best option, and is there any proof to it being a problem on street cars, from what I see it seems like an extreme use problem like when racing and hitting very hard and fast on the suspension. Thoughts?

I'm running the Stance coilover setup which I think is the same as "divorced" BC setup, or similar.
And I went for it because it uses the OEM spring perch setup (with adjustable perch and separate adjustable damper) for the same reason you mention. The chassis was not designed to have damper+spring loads going through rear shock tower. I don't know how much evidence there is of failure in the FB, but I didn't want to find out with my rust free, original paint chassis!!
For the front you will want to make sure that a very good fabrication shop does the modifications+spindle welding..
