Question FB GSL-SE Wheel Stud Question???

Im in the process of up grading my gsl-se wheel studs to the STRONGER and much longer ARP wheel studs...Whats the size on the press in wheels studs the gsl-se comes with stock so that way i can go and order the ARP wheel studs...

I already know i will be running the tuner open end lug nuts...I just have to and want to up grade my studs...my car will not pass inspection at the track with missing and broken studs...thanks

is it the 12mmx1.5 wheel stud?
if so will this stud not only fit the rotor of the gsl-se but also provide more length on the stud vs the stock?

Teddy,

12 x 1.5 is the correct bolt diameter, and pitch, but you need to make sure that the base is the correct size also. IE: the stud itself might be 12mm, but what is the press fit size? 12.3, 12.5, 12.? their are different sizes, I am not sure what the stock FB size is as I bought the FC studs for the front for the S5 turbo and used them (when I originally had the Bwaits 2nd gen swap kit) I used the FC front studs for the rear of the FB because the FC studs for the S5 turbo front were the longest that mazda, or toyota made (they share same diameter and pitch) so they were a guarnteed fit. they allowed me to use spacers if needed. I eventually changed to the Bwaits moser axels, and then used the same S5 front studs for that also.

I'm going to need to know this also.

I'm running Weld wheels and instead of picking up new longer studs.... (the stockers just come flush to the face of the Weld's) I got myself deeper threading lugs, which allowed for PLENTY of thread to thread catch. I plan on knocking off the end caps to pass track inspection If I ever do get around to going, but I could guarentee once the slicks are on & tranck don't pass me I'll be looking for this thread again.

If you want some really long studs, (2.5") the Moser 8255s work fine. That's 1" longer than stock. If you want stock 1.5" studs, go with the Moser 8254. They're cheap at Summit Racing.

okay coo beans...so let me get this straight the stockers are 1.5inches?? but if i want longer i want go 2.5inches for longer studs...

And finally the correct pitch thread pitch on the gsl-se is 12mm??

12mmx1.5inch thick by 2.5 inches long???

So go with this one???

Yes. GSL-SE studs are 1.5" long with a M12x1.5 thread. The ones you picked should work fine as long as you're using open-head lug nuts that'll allow the long stud to pass through them.

I'm sure that the official way involves removing the hub from the spindle, but I just knock 'em out with a sledge while they're mounted. Just don't admit to anyone else that you did it.
