fb to fc tranny fit?

well i stumbled upon a gsl-se in the j-yard today.. and i seem to have an FC that needs a tranny... the tranny in the FB is perfect.. will the mounts/bolt patern fit into an FC body?.. i' assume the bolt pattern is the same seeing how it is the same motor... but will the tranny mounts (crossmember.. whatever) be in the same spot?/

thanks

it'll fit... you might have to fab a mount or something. You also have to swap over the shift rod assembly from a FC if you want to put it in a FC.

How do you knwo a FC drive shaft wil fit on a first gen with no moding?

The First gen wheel base is shorter, and the TII drive shaft is shorter then a n/a

ahhhh! I used the incorrect term. Its the shifter housing and the rod attached to it... ya know the stuff that we have to take off of a FB tranny to fit a TII in our cars?

Change the tailshaft over and put the 2nd gen tranny mount on it and it will fit in fine.

I did the reverse to put a 88 tranny in my GSL-SE
