Exclamation FB Clear Headlight Covers?

I remember seeing a white 1st gen floating around somewhere with clear headlight covers. I can't find it anymore has anyone seen it or provide a like to it's website? I thought I would do a search for it here but just came up with 2nd and 3rd gen conversitons. I thought they looked kinda neat. So, I told my friend about them and he thinks I'm smoke'n crack because I can't find the pics for it.

Look more closely at your stock headlights. Unless someone's been ricin' with them they should be clear.

Right on.

What?!
My headlights are fine. I'm talking about the headlight covers.

I saw a 1st gen out there on the web with a 13b engine turbo in it and had clear headlight covers with the dual headlights inside it.

I love those lights. I have always despised pop-ups. and like you say, "To each His Own."

That headlight cover treatment screams "Ferrari"! That looks great! All the other cover tricks now pale in comparison. I'm just scared to try the link and find out how much they cost...

Does anybody here really now how these are made, or where to purchase them?

Yuck... It just looks wrong without the popups.

BTW they put the scoop on wrong too... it's not offset to the driver's side

I don't mind the actual idea but in that example they just look very cheaply done IMO. The black surround is ugly and it looks like the area behind the lights is open.

I dunno if you guys care about this, but those have gotta suck for actually lighting up the road.

The headlights just sit way to far back in the housing to make any usefull light. You're gonna need a good set of foglights mounted under your bumper for sure, at least if you want to actually see the road.

And you know this, how?? Or is that just an "informed" guess? This is the stuff that drives sterling into his beserker posts. I'm surprised he hasn't piped up....

there is no link on their site to buy the lights. I had to E-Mail them ad inquire about them.

Yes, it's just an educated guess... based on the physical properties of light.

Lets try a little experiment.
Take a flashlight. They have fairly similar beam of light to a headlight (or at least close enough for this experiment).

Now hold a piece of carboard, or a book, or some other opaque flat surface under the head of the flashlight, so that it protrudes about 4 inches in front of the flashlight. Now hold the whole assembly so it's aimed parallel to and about 1 foot off the ground. See the problem?

That said, I don't see why you have to jump all over me. I was simply trying to point out a possible problem, and suggested a possible soloution.

And if you look, the car in the pic has a good looking set of foglights.

More power to ya! And hey, I have a big-*** Maglight as a backup too
Works great when you get an ******* behind you with highbeams. A little Maglight in the face usually learns 'em

what do you expect from a 10sec drag car
yes, the light pattern is very bad from its design.
the driving lights help alot.
there is no kit, they said it was to much work to create a kit to sell.

They won't sell any, it came up a long time ago. That said, that looks cheaply done. I could make something like that myself. I'd rather have a sleepy eye setup myself

I like them both but I would have to say that the sleepy eyed looks like it would provide better lighting. I tshould be easy to fab up real quick. You could use a real headlight off a tiburon or integra or somethin. cut a section out of the headlight linkage and tada! add another one of those yellow foglights for the 80's look.
hmmm. I think I'll try this out.

The only problem with using driving lights to augment the headlights is that you have to turn the driving lights off for oncoming traffic. 90% of the time, you have crappy lighting.

(People who don't turn off their driving lights for traffic should be hung by the thumbs, just like poeple who don't turn off their high beams. People who have their driving lights on all the time, day or night, should be hung by the thumbs and bounced)
