Question FB brake discs- where to get 'em?

The age of my car is becoming more and more apparent everytime i go to drive it. Upon braking at higher speeds it is evident that the discs are warped. I figured i might as well pick up some new rotors instead of getting them resurfaced, but i am having a helluvatime trying to find some oem replacement front rotors.

I've searched around (here and google) and no dice...

If anybody can help me find a place to get a pair, i'd be very thankful.

Thanks

-Kyle

KVR performance is where Racing beat gets theirs. It's also in town for me so that's where I got mine. Cross drilled is good ****.

I just bought the cheapest that Rockauto had (like 15 bucks each). Been two years and they're still performing just fine. Using them with Hawk pads, you couldn't ask for anything better. Replace the wheel bearings while you're at it...

R1Concepts makes brakes for the gsl and gsl-se. I have had them on my 6s 3.0 for 2 years now and they are great. Next time I need to change my pads on my 85 GSL i'll be purchasing from them. They offer OEM, slotted, drilled, or slotted and drilled plus coatings. they are reasonably priced as well.

I've always picked mine up at the local Autozone or Advanced Auto, last time I got some (about 4 years ago) they were still a stock item and not very expensive at all, $24-$30 each as I recall.

We found that the NAPA rotors were the only thing we could get to last on the IT cars. We were regulated to retain the stock brakes and would cook anything but these.

That's why Holly was cooking the brakes on the White One during last year's Mountain Day, it was those damn Autozone rotors. I'll go with the NAPA ones next time, thanks Billy!

Napa is the only Auto parts chain that actually spends the money to have their brake products tested and have very strict guidelines on the manufacture of their brake parts.

Billy, do you know anything about Brembo rotors for a first gen. Theres a place by me that can get brembos for my gsl-se for 59.00 a piece. I'm wondering if there would be a benefit over those napa ones?

I ordered 2 front discs for my 82, and made sure that rockauto knew that it was for an 82, and got 84-85 rotors. They wouldn't pay for shipping back because they sent me the wrong part.

Later sold them on the forum for $5 the pair. Brembo Blanks too.

It is a brand name and they seem to be of good quality, not sure if they would be any better than the NAPA.

Funny, but the 15 dollar rotors I got from rockauto were also Brembo. I think sometimes you just get lucky and they send you what they've got...

My car's next step into being drivable and safe are my brakes. I do plan on changing them out myself but under RockAuto's drop down lists..what all is required to replace the brakes? I plan on changing the front disc brakes and the rear drum brakes just so I won't have to do much in the future and won't have to worry about it.

I get mine from altrom at about 20$ a piece (I normally get the cheapest stuff) but always take a good beating at the track and have never had a problem with them. Also using hawk pads.
