It could work. Also keep in mind you won't be able to use the GSL-SE disks because they're vented, thus thicker at 20mm.
The Mazda 6 rear calipers could probably be paired with 280ZX disks because they have a 4x114.3 lug pattern, are 10mm thick, and are almost the same diameter as the GSL-SE.

Not done yet, but I'm doing a GSL-SE axle swap and have been contemplating replacements in case the calipers I have are trash.

Thank you for the rotor info...I hadn't seen that. The 280zx rotor is not readily available plus were not to keen on a solid rear rotor for endurance racing. So...back to square one. Open to suggestions....

For what it is worth my local Autozone says it can have rear calipers to me by 4/10. They ain't cheap......
If you can source the rotors then it is a matter of finding a caliper that can handle the width of the rotor. Then you need a caliper with a piston diameter that is close to what you have now. I would look at domestic cars. Ford and GM started using rear disk brakes on more and more cars starting in the 80s. Should be able to find something that is readily available.

Is there a FB Dual rear caliper bracket out there?

Is there a FB Dual rear caliper bracket out there?

I just bought a 1981 12A GSL I was wondering if there was a bracket I could by for dual rear calipers. Installing a D brake of course. It would be nice if I didn't have to fabricate it. I still have to bring it home and put some work into it. But a fun daily aside from my 01 is300. I had a FC a few years and loved it.

any help would be awesome thanks

Dual rear calipers? Like duel piston? I've seen 2nd gen front calipers on our first gens, but for the rears most just swap in a disc brake axle. Is that 3rd gen Travelall still for sale?

No 2 calipers. One for the stock ones and another for that drift brake

I can't remember where I found this photo for the RX-2, but I'd want to dimension an RX-7 bracket like this once I measured for the hub-side holes. In this version, holes are positioned using a radius rather than x/y.

The second photo is my reverse-engineered rendering in Freecad. It hasn't been tested, but I can share that if anyone wants to play with it. I'd probably use SolidWorks the next round... Freecad is incredibly buggy.

Having done it both ways I much prefer using a drum brake rear end housing. the bracket ends up making a nice 3/8 thick bearing retainer in place of the weak stock sheet metal retainers.

I wasn't going to let the cat of the bag until I had this in hand, but I just purchased a Langmuir 4x8 CNC Plasma table. I know nothing about plasma tables or using programs like Fusion 360 and making G-Code but will learn. It should arrive in August. If anyone needs anything cut and can wait till then let me know. I will be making all kinds of first gen RX-7 goodies.

One of the first things I plan on making are some of the parts for the first gen big brake kit. I don't have a lathe so I can't make the spindle bushings. Sold my 1975 REPU to buy this table.

Very Cool! I know someone with a CNC Lathe and Mill and he can make the bearing spacers. All of them would be exactly the same once he programs the dimensions.
