fastest n/a rx7's
i have done some searching and in this forum everyone says that the gsl-se is the fastes n/a rx7 u out of all the generations . Is this true , because i have found a website that says the s5 rx7's are the fastest hittin the 1/4 in 15.3 and the gsl-se in 16.2 . is this webiste wrong . wat are ur suggestions . thanks

call me crazy but all the sites i've seen with stock quarter mile times had the n/a 2nd gens running at mid 16s in the quarter.. almost same hp as gslse but heavier.. I'm going with the SE on this one.

Mazda claimed a 16.1 quarter for the SE.....2590lbs with 135hp/133lb ft.
Mazda claimed a 15.9 for the S5,but most tests by mags at the time of intro put it at mid 16's......2800lbs with 160hp/140lb ft.
The 200+lbs cant be offset by only 7 more lb/ft of torque and everyone knows a peaky engine is going to be slower than a flat engine,especially in a heavier car.The extra 25hp is useless if it only comes online for 1-2K rpms near redline.The SE is the king of flat torque curves.....peak torque at 2700RPMs....the S5 peaks at 4000RPMs, which is very "12A-like" of it.....

the website i went to was http://www.rx7.voodoobox.net/ and they net the s5 at 15.3 . i know in other websites they have s5 at the mid 16's .that is a very big gap ? but one of them has the real stats just dont know which one .
