Exhaust Question

can resistance in the Exhaust system cause hard starting ?

beacuse I took A pice of my Exhaust system out and laid it aside and now the starter seems to have less stress on it. Loud as heck now though lol

It probably just sounds different, although there would be slightly less load due to the decreased engine backpressure from the exhaust, but that would be a very minor difference.

Agreed, it probally just sounds different to you... If your exhaust has any thing that is preventing the exhaust from free flowing that could prevent your motor from wanting to start. But at the same time I don't recommend running your motor without any exhaust on it, its a bad idea... If one of your cats is clogged and you don't need to pass emissions racing beat sells a cat replacement pipe that eliminates the catalytic converter.

Yes, especially if the cat or muffler is plugged.

I dislike making fun of people, but your sig had me rolling on the floor. You have way too much time on your hands.

guess i'll go just pipe from the manifold to the muffler, and see if that helps.

A completely blocked exhaust will not allow an engine to run, exhaust can't escape, fuel can't get in, but I doubt you're talking about this, restricted flow will reduce power but not stop it starting.
