Question exhaust question?

im running an extremly old racing beat exhaust sytem off a RB header (installed i think back in the early 90's by the previuse rotorhead) and i think its getting close to death............. im looking for the most effective exhaust set up... custom.. or new racing beat or (fill in the blank)... blah blha

if custom how big should i go? i was thinkin 2.5 or 2.75 inch piping

another thing is, i want a muffler that doesnt look nore sound like a pice of sh*t honda tip at all.. has to be the most horrible sound in the world

thx

you sure it's an RB header? close to death? why would you say that? just curious ...

anyway, when you're ready to buy, i say RB all the way. if you do go custom, i really think 2.25" (single pipe) is the most you should go for the street - the rest is pretty much just noise, in my opinion.

I second the RB.

I would get a street port exhaust system, that way if you decide to go all out down the road, the option is already there for you.

2 inch primaries collecting into a 2.5 inch pipe is pretty much ideal for most engines.

Thumbs up thx.. keep em comming

i didnt mean to imply the header is bout to die.. i ment the exhaust is rustin to sh*t and prolly staring to hinder more than help....

and if i did go custom... what about styles of mufflers.. i completely hate the one big piece of sh*t trashcan tips that all those poor souls in hondas use.............. i was think a aggressive twin tip.... but i dont want that sh*tty honda sound either

thx

are you sure it's not just surface rust on the header? the header on my old SE was way rusted, but when we took it off, it was still VERY solid. that steel is mighty thick!

okay, well since you already have it streetported, then yeah ... i think 2.50" is alright, if you choose to go custom.

i would still push the RB system though simply because i honestly believe it is the best quality, "complete system" out there for Rx-7's. the pipes are thick and robust, the muffler lasts and lasts and lasts, and the sound is aggressive, yet refined and mellow all at the same time.

about the rust, don't worry about it. if you bought a header from RB today and put it on your car, i promise it will be rusty by tomorrow ... that's just how it is.
