i have seen this wrap ( it looks like cotton or loose woven fiberglass) that you can wrap your exaust manifold in to shield the rest of your car from the heat from the manifold. does anyone know what this stuff is called or where to get it? i think its used on motorcycles and stuff.

 

googled it... might keep too much heat in and hurt the exhaust, or so one of the sites said..

My '83 GSL came with that stuff... I don't know if it's aftermarket or stock. But mine also has a thermal reactor and stuff (which I'm assuming is basically the headers for the GSL, since the exhaust pipe goes right into them.)
