its pretty easy actually.

the taillights are in three parts.

the housing which has the bulbs and the reflectors, the colored lenses and a clear outer cover.

If you can get the clear outer cover off, you can remove the colored part and put in whatever you want.

I was planning on tinting the outer cover and installing a LCD panel.

I saw this on trucks tv and it looked badass. I just have to find the LCD panel

Yeah euro taillights are not made, as far as my knowledge. I believe this is a good thing. However, the stock taillights do lack somethign don't they? If i were you i would go to Iotus' Writeup on how to make ur custom clear taillights. The things just plain look sweet and it isn't hard to notice how much work is put into them.

I am sorry but, you have a beautiful car and the contrast of the original taillights looks much better. In my opinion they just look faded now. Maybe in person they look different.

but why slosh a red/oranges on nice cool blue style?

It matches his car well!

Now, on a red car, or brown, or orange, or maroon, or...or...or... you get the idea.... all the warm colored cars make them just look faded.... on cool or neutral colors, its good.....

the stock ones looked like **** on there. all muddy dark colors like red and orange. the tinted outer lense in accompaniment with my own clear inners gives a good subtle change.

and yes, they are 100 times better in real life.

_______
btw thanks for the compliments guys

FWIW I like the clear look on your car, iotus. I'll keep the stock red/amber on my new Rex though.

Unlike IoTus' lights, I completely removed the yellow, red and clear reflectors inside the housing. I am using red LEDs which are pretty bright and vibrant. The painted bulbs have a tendancy to fade.

It's all about personal preference.

thanks!

I am not sure if IoTus did the same thing but I removed the rubber weatherstrip around the lights and the center trim panel. I think it looks a lot cleaner without it.

Looking back on it now, I rushed the job a little. I should've painted the inside of the plastic housing silver. The stock color is a patchy silver & black. It still looks clean though.

I'd like to see some more pics of yours, dcee!

Maybe at dusk, tail and brake on, etc?

Looks great!
