erratic oil pressure guage readings

intermittently while driving, my oil pressure gauge will drop to zero than back to normal. I have checked the guage with a volt meter it seems to be working fine. I am very confused as to whether it is safe to be driving my car. Anyone any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Check your wires are making a good connection, unplug and clean connectors.

There is a condensor/capacitor that bolts to the top of the block, near the clutch slave. It's purpose is to stabalize the op sender signal.

Other than that, as aussiesmg said, check the wiring connections and make sure the wire on the sender is clean and tight.

id say loose connector to the sending unit, mine did the same thing, so id go with it first, since its the easiest thing to check first
