i know the slots can be cut, but the markings for the controls arent there. to tell you what youre doing with the controls. i thought about using stickers and a clear coat over that, but where to get the sticks is the problem.

Looks really good but can the air vents be mounted on that? And what about the ashtray?

I'll take a set for my '83. I need them cut for gauges though... I'd like them cut for a standard size guage, 3 across... Let me know how much and I can paypal right away.

Assuming you're aware that SAs are *vastly* different from FBs in the center console area, the SA panel looks like it'd be a steal. A new one from Mazda was something like $300 before they were discontinued.

How difficult is it to cut through CF and not get splintered edges or fraying? If you left the clear protector on a blank panel, could we cut this stuff in finished forms ourselves?

I just noticed on my '83 today that the surround plate isn't really flat. The section where the HVAC controls are is actually a "sunken" area relative to the rest of the surround. Will an '83 CF plate replicate this or is the whole surround actually based on the '79/'80 flat surround feature and all flat like the pic above?

I reckon you could just put a small sapcer between the Aircon slider control tabs, may need slightly longer bolts. Will take a pic when I get a chance

I'm interested. I could cut a blank one myself.

I'm getting a red interior from Lokirx7.1 and I'm painting the exterior black so a carbon fibre center console would look pretty nice.

I you can get one to replicate the factory center section with everything in place,Id be ready to order one.Same with the shifter console....
If they only come in a flat panel, thats cool too,but it'd have to accept all the factory components like heater dial/buttons,vents and clock.I dont want to delete any creature comforts just to look cool. But,I am tired of trying to find, and having to recover, more used center consoles every couple years because they always crack......
