engone rebuild prices

why is it that a rotary only has like... what 3 moving parts.. yet it's just as expensive ( or more) to have rebuilt as a piston engine which can have upwards of 100 movine parts.. am i not getting something here??

To rebuild a rotary engine you need to pull the entire engine apart.

Then you have to put the entire engine together.

Only 3 moving parts? I have 32 pistons on my RX-7.
