Engine Timing Help
I just rebuilt the stock 12a engine in my 83. Everything went fine and I have everything in the car and back together. I just can't get it to crank
. I think it just out of time. The car is turning over, I'm getting fire, and can see gas in the carb. When I bought my car, one of the previous owners had done several modifications. One thing he did was do the direct fire injection mod described here here. Where the two leading spark plugs are hooked up to a separate coil bypassing the distributor. I'm not sure how to time this setup. Thanks in advance.

and the older engines had a symmetrical bolt pattern for the front hub to timing pulley, your timing marks could be anywhere from 90* to 180* off if there was no care to mark it before taking it off or reinstalling it.
