engine swap

Im about to do a engine tranny swap between two 80's. One is from new york...with horrible rust but perfect engine, and one from texas with good body bad engine (bad Seals) . This is the final step in the project, besides paint. After this its off to paint and a new interior. Any tips before i pull the new york cars engine, or any on reinstalling it into the texas car. Thanks alot.

just follow the manuals, in the faq section for 1st gens there is a link & there is a pdf format version of the factory service manual. also, mark all elecrical connections with ductape & write on them, so you know what connects to what, makes installation a BREEZE. other than that, just take your time, it is pretty basic and strait forward as long as you have all the proper tools! good luck, sounds like a blast
