When the car comes to a stop the engine is running fine. Although when I move my foot from the brake to the gas the engine will stall when I put any pressure on the gas pedal.

I have put in new plugs, fuel filter, and have run one can of sea foam through it. I have checked for vacume leeks and have not found any.

 

Check to see if you're getting a squirt of fuel from the accelerator pump jets. If you are, then you need to run a fuel pressure/volume test. and of course, replace the fuel filter.

 

Sounds like a vacuum issue to me. Maybe with the power brake booster or a leak
somewhere in the intake manifold or the many vacuum switches in the rats nest.

 

We were thinking of having the carberator rebuilt. A mechanic told me that the accelerator pump was weak, and the carberator should be rebuilt soon. We're pretty new at this, how would i go about running a fuel pressure/volume test?

In my sig is a link to the online FSMs. The 85 manual is the best one. DL that and the appropriate year for your 7. Also dl the factory carb manual. If the car has sat for a period of time, the fuel system may need cleaning, including the tank.

Our RX 7 has been running daily now for 3 months. We had the carborator rebuilt and she has been running good.

Well I should ad that we had to put in a new cluch pomp in.
