To take out the engine, just get a hoist. That's it. Unbolt all the connections and yank 'er out.

As for the carb, I imagine it's just sockets? Sorry, I'm FI

Mostly 14mm sockets.

Uh, a ratchet would help, too...

Too bad you don't need those to actually pull the engine...

don't forget to have a pipe of some sort.... for torque purposes..... Some bolts have been there over 20 years... make to lubricate bolts... or it'll snap.... if its too hard, use pipe to use as an extention....

A good cheater pipe helps to save your knuckles, as well.

get a buddy with air tools for everything... sure helps A LOT!.. most useful size on my SE.. 10,12,14,17mm..for the motor~~> cherry picker is a must.. haven't removed one w/o it .. tranny you can just drop it with your knees bracing the bell housing while you loosen the 14mm bolts holding the tranny mount.

Are there particular places on the block to attach a hoist to? With v8s they are easy to see, what about with a rotory? I'll be doing this tomorrow.

hoist who needs one..... we got some scafling tossed a pipe across it and hooked up a come-a-long, custom hoist

o and as for where to lift it form. there is a loop in the front that you can hook it to. if yours is not there...... i guess wrap a chain around it several times.

if you dont see the loop i can get a pic or some one can prolly post a pic of what im talking about.

have fun pulling the motor. im pulling 2 next sat. wee.... 1/2 off day. mmmm $150 motors

there should be two loops, bolted onto the engine. One in the front, and one in the back. They're pretty easy to see if you're actually looking for them. Otherwise they'll blend in with the rats nest and crap like that.
