Question Engine paint question

I did a search and the words "engine paint" are too vague. I can't find a thread that says what a good brand of paint, and a good place to get it. Can someone help me here? I'm ready to paint my engine and rebuild it.

Muchos gracias

I like VHT for stuff that's going to get hot. Barbeque paint works pretty good, too. Whatever paint you use, be sure to heat-cycle the paint a couple of times, bringing up the temperature to about 1/2 of the maximum temperature usually associated with the particular part, then letting it cool. This makes the paint harder and less apt to discolor when it reaches it's normal operating temperature. Sometimes an oven can be used to bake the paint. This works well for getting a nice even finish with "wrinkle paint", which is extremely durable when it's completely cured, which can take a month. Nice looking engine compartment, Jeryj!

Thats EXACTLY what I want to do under my hood, with the MSD and all . I gotte order some hose from Hose Techniques, and then when I rebuild (and port) my engine, Im gonna paint it yellow and have the irons polished (or painted black). I think that would look sweet.

I brushed it on. First I used a couple coats of their rust preventative paint. Then 2 coats of the engine paint. Comes out looking like hard shiny plastic. I had enough that I used the same procedure on the engine bay. Flash makes it wash out. Looks perfect in person.

Yes, it is going in the RX-4 in the background and yes this car does deserve it.

Pretty observant. Yes I have enough + wheels for 6 cars, but all the wheels on the car now are the 14" waffle wheels from an 83 LE RX-7. I think I was getting new tires mounted when that was taken.

If you look real close you'll see a brown dash, not the black one that is in there now.

It looks more like this normally.

Nice RX4, I have a '74, and a '76 for parts. RX4s kick ***, at least in a straight line. I replaced the dash in my '74, what a job! My engine compartment is all original paint in good condition. I'm not too keen on those spoilers, myself, but to each his own. Those 14" LE wheels are more commonly referred to as "mesh" wheels. I have a set of the 13" '79 LE waffle wheels that will be on eBay soon.

Spoolin', where did you get yours? The reason I ask is I lived in Mempho years ago and sold my original GSLSE OBM to some guy there who was going to Dellorto it out and autox it. (We all do things we regret...).

You're forgiven. Its not hard to make that mistake. I've had people think its a Mustang fastback, Maverick, Opel, Pinto, Vega and the ever popular Datsun. One guy stopped next to me at a light, looked over, and said, "Nice RX-4. What year? About a 74?" I was shocked someone knew what it was. He tried to buy it from me, but I'm keeping it.
Its only similarity to the RX-7 is the motor and a few interchangeable parts. The 4 is fairly quick ( street ported 13B 4-port) and handles nicely, but I always love to get back into one of the 7s and find some twisties.

Why not paint the block? The irons and the rotor housings make up the block right? What should I paint them with?

And there should be something after "Duplic-Color" because as it stands, its not a complete sentence and I don't know what you mean.
