Engine ID

A guy has this 12a listed on craigs list locally. What in the hell are the 2 pullies on the right? I have never seen this before. It looks like the whole front cover is different.

Idler pulley and power steering pump. Mine has it them, the compressor goes on top above power steering.

when did a vehicle with a 12a get power steering? Add says its out of an '81 Rx7

some of the Series 3 cars had power steering. the ad could be wrong.

Does it still have the flywheel? If so check the number on the flywheel.

81-82 12A = 21
83-85 12A = 31

You can also check just below the oil pedestal to see if there is a "T" that would be used to supply water to a late model 83 84/85 beehive oil cooler. If it does not have the "T", then it's not a late model 83 or 84/85

its was optional on the 84-85 GSL and GSL-SE's

I saw the ad as well. Couldn't hurt to pick it up for spare housings, they aren't making any more!
I guess I didn't know that they gave people the option for PS in S2 cars, must have been dealer installed correct?

84-85 cars only. The red car has it. Glad the brown one doesn't.

S3, only, factory installed
