Engine hesitation?

I have noticed my car has a little bit of hesitation while I'm waiting at a red light (hesitation as in when I press on the gas, it jerks up a little bit then starts going, or it just drops in to extremely low revs.) it seems to have have more hesitation when the car is on a hill and I experience rollback, it mostly results in a stall, I believe I might need a new carb, but can you guys help me figure out the source of this problem so I can fix it?

Have you replaced your fuel filter this year? It may be starving for some fuel.

accelerator pump malfunctioning or needing adjusting. But you are in the right area - it is carb related.

Can you tell us a little more about the car engine specific carb size ,fuell injection ported or not.
if you have a bigger carb like a 600 cfm and try to punch from a start it its gonna bog down very badly
but let us know what you have not only are we noset it helps us diagnose the problem
