Engine hesitation?

I have noticed my car has a little bit of hesitation while I'm waiting at a red light (hesitation as in when I press on the gas, it jerks up a little bit then starts going, or it just drops in to extremely low revs.) it seems to have have more hesitation when the car is on a hill and I experience rollback, it mostly results in a stall, I believe I might need a new carb, but can you guys help me figure out the source of this problem so I can fix it? :icon_tup:

Have you replaced your fuel filter this year? It may be starving for some fuel.

accelerator pump malfunctioning or needing adjusting. But you are in the right area - it is carb related.

Can you tell us a little more about the car engine specific carb size ,fuell injection ported or not.
if you have a bigger carb like a 600 cfm and try to punch from a start it its gonna bog down very badly
but let us know what you have not only are we noset it helps us diagnose the problem
