Engine fuse keeps blowing

like the title says, are there any typical places i can check? the car did have an alarm in it that was wired to a bunk of junk. i think i got it all. there wasnt a problem until i tried hooking up a cd player. i was wiring the 12v switch from the ignition wire under the column. it was fine until i drove my car home last night, it died.
(pulled sterio) today i had 4 or 5 blown fuses. replaced all, but blew after driving it for like 30 seconds.

replaced it again, and it blew as soon as i swithced it to 'start'

any ideas where to check?

Well, at the risk of stating the obvious....sounds like you have a grounded hot wire somewhere.

Check the wiring that you used to power the stereo, and the ones around the coil if you might have changed anything up there. I'm pretty sure its got to be a power wire that's grounding out, so it shouldn't be too hard to track it down.

Good luck man!

nothing around the copil looks out of place, and i removed the sterio, and capped off the wires. so nothing should be shorting there.

Hmm, better pull up a wiring diagram and see what all feeds off of the engine fuse...

Hey, I've got room in my garage... It would only take you what, like 195 fuses to get here? LOL. Bring Heinies...

im a retard, it turns out it wasnt the engine fuse, it was the one for th rear wiper.....now i have to find all of those wires in my haynes, and one got any info that iwll help me find that?

EDIT: that was incoherent rambling. let me refraise my question. does anyone know what all runs from the rear wiper fuse?
