Has anyone dynoed this system? I'm interested in setting up our race car ignition like this but would like to see what it will do first. I have the direct fire set up using the MSD on my street car but I'm not impressed enough with it to do it to the race car.

AZ85RX7, what specific questions do you have?
REVHED is correct about the little connectors. They are the really super small quick disconnects that fit on the pins in the back of the ignitors. Two for each ignitor. I got mine from an car sound store. I don't recall seeing any of that size at radio shack.
I just reset my timing to 20*L BTDC and double checked the Trailing split and set it to 10* behind Leading (the darn thing had been sitting for 10 years before I installed it and the diaphrams caused a less than accurate setting. Now it's working ok), except I'm getting a strange missfire now. It started when I put the timing light on my Trailing wires (if you've read my poor man's page you'll see that I got a similar problem when I first experimented with PMDFIS in parallel mode - it started missing when I hooked up the timing light... the piece of junk! Oh well, it's the only one I have... for now.).
I also un dead-headed my fuel pump and it runs better now, but the carb runs itself out of gas again. Gotta replace the Facet pump with something better that can supply the needed PSI and volume.
I haven't dynoed this system yet, but the MSD sucked big time when compared in regular street driving and acceleration.

But in a comparison test with an other car that was previously equal in acceleration, I was able to pull away.
Better engine startup I agree.
Better emission, for some reason when i put the trailing wire on the leading part of the distributor cap, a spark jumps from the + and the - on the coil and they extend under the boot of the wire.
Perhaps I did not properly cover the + side of the coil?
But i have no problem running it on its original location. Point beeing that the car seems to stink a bite more than it used to.
Other than that it was quite simple to wire and was worth the time.

it should have read emission... or ?
I meant to say emisssions seem to be worst, but I do belive that its because of this arcing problem.
REVHED
Thanks I'm such an IDIOT, I guess it is quite self explanatory.
I guess I did not fully think it out before I got started, Im giving people advice and not even following it myself
But one thing is for sure, if you get started and doo most of the work, little bugs can be sorted out on the way just like I did.
BTW did i say im an IDIOT?

Yeah, they played way too quick. Blake should have added more frames. At least the gifs play longer. Too bad they are so clicky compared to the Quicktime movies though.
Man, you know what? I had to visualize all of that when I was figuring out if dual leading sparks was even possible back when I started messing with my ignition. You kids have it easy hehe. Why back in my day, we had to walk to school bare foot in snow up hill both ways for 100 miles every day.

Dude Blake, I just sent you an email right before I came here tonight! What a trip. Great minds think alike I suppose.
Well, since I got your attention, would you possibly be able to animate a 20B with all the plugs firing the way Mazda's ECU controls them (dual Leading sparks)?
I think we can all visualize single Leading sparks, but how about dual? You feel up to it?
The email contains some info you might need.
AZ85RX7,
Where do you start? How far along are you already? Your car is an '85 right? All you need is some of the materials listed in my article. Then put your mechanical and electrical skills to the test. Set it up kinda like REVHED did, but you also need to leave enough space for things like AC and the brake master cylinder and stuff (like all US LHD cars).
