why does an apex all of a sudden just blow? that would really suck if that happened to me. it also sux that it can happen period. in comparison to a boinger what can an apex seal going on the rotary be compared too? what are some signs of an apex seal going bye bye. also if my leading ignitor would be bad my car wouldnt even idle. i took the wires off my plugs at idle and it just died.

A blown apex seal is akin to a hole in a piston...u lose compression on that tip of the rotor.

It could be so many things, i dont wanna write it out, and i write long *** posts.
If it is a blown apex seal, get the engine compression checked by someone who knows rotaries (some mechanics will put ideas in your head like it's a piston engine....). If the apex seal is blown, you wont have compression on at least 2 sides of a rotor face. chances are when the apex seal went (if that's the problem, of course) it took out the other two. Then, you would have no compression on one rotor and compression on the other.

About two weeks ago I was going from first to second gear when I think I blew the apex seal in my front rotor. I have a 85 with a 12a, I know that the rear rotor has compression but the first one has none, sucks but trying to get enough money together to get it rebuilt
