emissions control unit

is there any way to bypass the emissions control unit in a 1981. cause it's just taking up space. I don't want to have to re-wire the car.

it really takes up no useable space at all. it sits under a metal pan on the passenger floor board. why would you consider removing it and why would you have to re-wire the entire car if you left it in place?

Actually in the S1 and S2 cars it sits up above/near the fuse box on the driver side. May as well leave it there as it seems to be a PITA to get it out.
