Emission Control Unit

Well i am trying to clean out my engine bay. I have all emmisions off the motor and carb, and im wondering what still needs be plugged in to the emmision control unit. i tried unplugging it and now it wont start, and i think something happened cause i plug it back up and no spark????? why is that. is there not a way to get rid of that harness with out lossing anything else, or did i do somthing else wrong?? I have only been running leading ignition so the if i lose the trailing no big deal. any suggestions on how to do this and still have the car run?

I don't thin there is any way the Emissions unit can keep the car from starting. (i don't think)

Make very shure you haven't forgotten to connect something else in the engine bay.

yeah the emission control unit looks like it would possible affect the trailing circuit but thats it. i dont think it was hoooked to anything that would cause it not to start. here is the thing i got power at the coil but nothing gets to the plugs. i took L1 off and put a extra plug i had laying around down to see if it sparked any nothing. not sure what could have caused this?? any ideas? oh yeah the car is a 79 sa with a electronic dizzy with j109s, if i have to do some rewiring no big deal thats my plan any ways just need some help
thanks robert
