The switch is on the ebrake handle. Under the cover, towards the back. Check the fluid in the master cylinder. The light will also come on if the fluid is low.

One thing I have noticed with my car, when I put my ebrake off sometimes the light remains lighted (brake fluid level is perfectly fine) and what turns it off is backing the ignition key off a very small amount... Dunno why, but it works for me...

The light has 3 warning functions. Low fluid, e-brake on and a rear brake lamp out.

No, the lamp out light is next to it and it says "Stop Light".

by law there has to be a lamp test function when you crank the key, at least, thats what i remember my buddy saying (he was doing some research on vehicle lighting on the canadian goverments website.. )

so it COULD be the ignition switch being a little buggery.

Yeah my brake light will stay on sometimes, and it's because of a buggy ignition switch.

Right on.

That means you should inspect your brakes, you should get a brake job done soon.

it doesn't burn, haha what happens is the further down your brake pads are (discs), the caliper piston has to be further out to be at the same distance from the rotor. The extra area is compensated with the fluid that is in the master cylinder resivoir.
