Electrical prob
Alright this is another one of my prob ... when my battery is off i can't get the clock, ingnition light, and map light/open door light to work ... all this electrical sutff failled to start again after my little battery boost mishap that i started in another thread ... i looked on the electrical wiring diagram and all these are each have an idividual fuse hooked to them ... where are those fuses located? any help would be appreciated

When my battery is off I can't get the clock, ignition light and map light/open door light to work either! in fact, nothing electrical works when my battery is off! I wonder why! 
On a more serious note, fuse box is under the dash, left side. Can't miss it.

i know where the fuse box is .. but it doesn't have those fuses in there ... i think that they're suppose to be else where ...
and i guess that i wrote that wrong ontop ... when my "ignition" is off ... not battery ... appologize ...

i have the same prob, i think its due to a messed up solder in the cars PC, or a ground somewhere that is causing that relay which uses the 15amp fuse for the horn, defroster, interior lights, clock, etc. to keep a open 12v all the time, everytime i put in a new fuse it just blows, im pretty stumped aswell..... anyone who has had this prob before, please chime in!

I'm not sure about what's in an '84, but I believe my '80 has fuses in-line with certain wires running up the steering column to the ignition switch. I wouldn't know why that would affect your maplight or clock, but it makes sense for the ignition light.

Ok, I had the problem with my map light and clock not working and I did something with this box down by the fuse panel. Search for this thread: 4 way flashers not working. Do what the last post in this thread says. I just unpluged this box and wiggled the wires and re-installed them and have not had a problem yet.

found this in a search. gonna give it a shot tommorow.....
Ok guys I did a short write up on this not to long ago. There is a box, black, forward of the fuse box which is called the flashers. There will be a group of wires going into it. Take this box out. There is 3 nuts holding it in. 2 are easy to get to one is not to easy. Take the box out, open it up. Take a magnifying glass and inspect the solder joints. There is a 99% chance that this is where your problem lies. Get some wicking wire and a soldering iron, wick the old solder and re- solder the joints. The guys with the fuses blowing have a short and if it is affecting the flashers then this is probably where it is at. Not a hard fix, just a pita to get the box out and back in.

well, i managed to get mine out today, but i the plug going into it was pretty much jammed solid, i couldnt get it off... not to mention the box itself was pretty moist and the wire connections looked nasty
so i went and yanked another flasher box out of a wrecked 85 GSL, hope to swap it into my car tommorow. those damn 3 bolts took me most the afternoon between the two cars... arggh
i found it helpful to remove the drivers seat (would be impossible without doing so) and the fuse panel, then pushing as much of the wires out of the way as possible. its tighter than a catholic school girl in there, so be prepared for a lot of swearing.

well finally got around to swapping that flasher box in today. since the tranny in my supra just lost 2 of its gears 
looks like i'll be driving the Rx7 for awhile now until its fixed.
I got the box out of a wrecked 85 GSL. anyways my clock works, flashers, horn should work but i dont think its wired up. atleast i have power to keep my stereo memory now, and map lights. weeeee one electrical prob down, couple more to go.
and yes that thing is a pita to get in and out! arggh
