AZ electric fan???

I'm looking for a suitable electric fan to replace the stock fan. A few years ago I had an SE that I put a Black Magic M150 on that i bought from Summit but they no longer offer that model. If anyone has any suggestions what else i could use or has one for sale I'd be greatly appreciative, BTW its going in a car that has a 13b if that makes a difference. Thanks

I just installed a Flex-a-lite 16 inch fan on my FB. Fits perfectly and really kicks out the air so it should do the cooling job nicely. If you'd rather go used then 1st gen MR2 fans fit with some minor adjustments or Taurus 2 speed fans also fit. do a search for some how-to's

I've heard a 91' Ford Escort fan will bolt directly in place...not sure if there are any minor modificiations needed or not. My question would be...so you install it...how do you set it up to run and what's going to make it come on and off. I would like to take the belt driven fan off my 85' GSLSE not only to free up the horsepower, but to get rid of the belt driven fan noise so I can hear the rotary motor better....but I would need some step by step instructions to feel comfortable.

I was going to do the e-fan conversion, but decided not to. Even in the summer, my clutch fan never engages, and my temp gauge never goes past 1/4. So basically, for me, the clutch fan is in free-spin mode all the time, so an e-fan would not be an advantage for me. This month some time, I will be getting my A/C working again. I will have to see how this effects the temp. Maybe with the A/C, I will have to eventually go with an e-fan to free up some ponies.

I have a 16" Proform fan that pushes about 2000 cfm. I installed it with a Derale temperature switch, that is set to turn the fan on at 180 degrees. I remember seing a chart on the boards a couple years ago that compared different electric fans based on size, cfm rating, and amp draw. The 16" Proform seemed to be pretty highly rated, fairly high cfm and low amp draw, which is why I bought it. I've never had any problems, this setup paired with my aluminum rad has never gone above the quarter line on the temp gauge.

I put twin MR2 fans on my 1st gen controlled by an Autocool 2 fan controller.
The beauty of this controller is that it controls the speed of the fans according to the temperature and you don't need separate relays. Most controller are either just 'on' or 'off'.

I've now done 100 miles on this setup and it works a treat.

hoang5659, I bought my rad on ebay. It's made by autopwr, a company that makes rads mostly for mitsus and nissans. I think they only made a limited number of them, I don't know if any are still available

jshook82, my fan pushes about 2000 cfm, and it seems to cool my rx very well. I installed the fan about a year ago and haven't had any problems, the temperature has never risen past the quarter mark on the temp gauge.
