a puller is much more efficient then a pusher.
if it was a pusher you could mount it like it is in the picture and switch the wiring to become a puller.

It all depends on how you wire it.
1. Striaght to the battery. (No recommened because it will run when the car is off)
2. When the ignition is turn on.
3. With a thermostat. (Which is what I did. You can adjust the temp it turns on at.)
4. On a switch. (Just don't for get to turn it off.)

Please tell me why you say this. I'd be very interested to know.

maybe or maybe not but im sure its the fan motor will appreciate it more as a pusher since its air cooled motor.

Exactly. that's why I run mine as a pusher in front of the rad. I really don't see how it could make it less effecient.

If you have the fan in the front of the rad (pusher) the fan will blow air against the rad and still disperse the cold air in every possible direction. Now if you have a the fan on the backside (puller) the fan will capture the cool air from the front and pull it through the rad. Cooling the rad more efficiently.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Probably depends on how well you mount the fans as well. I have mine right right up against the radiator so there's really nowhere else for the air to go.

ur right and there is no right or wrong answer. i was just referring to longetivity of the fan. in addition to the warm air, the motor will be filled with dust which is another cause of motor burn-out. im just saying this coz i've seen it too many times as a HVAC service tech.

my 16 derale is mounted as a puller coz theres not enough room in the front to cover both radiator and oil cooler. but if there is, i would prefer a pusher.

Seems like behind is the best way pulling air toward the motor. AS the cool air hits the front, the fan will pull it thru and into the comparment also colling the hot exhast out also. In front pushing out toward the front of the car at speed would do no good. Or maybe I have that wrong and the guys are pushing it thru from the front.

Sounds like the right way to do it. What thermostat part didja use (you say it's adjustable), where didja mount it and how didja wire it up? TIA

Here is a link to my cold air intake. If you look at the pics you can see where the themostat for the electric fan. It's located right where I cut through the radiator housing for the cold air intake hose to go.
