Ebay Turbos

Crap or not?

They are super cheap compared to their "Real" counterparts.

Most people will definetly say they are crap! I do agree. Simply because there is just no way a $200 turbo is made as well as a $900 one. However my friend has been running one at 10psi for about 10,000 kms now and its still going strong. Its a gamble on getting one, but its up to you. You could buy 3 or 4 of them for the price of a brand name one.
I personally will probally get one just because.

Its hit and miss. Often they are cracked or flawed but if you hit a good one then it can last for a long time.

Too much of a gamble for my liking though

Most offer a warranty, and if/when I get one I will be sure to make good use of it when it comes in.

If you decide to bite the bullet, I'd have it checked at a reputable turbo shop, check the seals and balance. It may cost a few hundo, but if the turbo is only $300, it wouldn't be a terrible deal.

....otherwise, save you cash and buy a proven product.

some of those chineese turbo's have no equal as far as trying to match parts, we've had many of these 'turbos' come in for repair with no real luck finding replacment parts or parts that will fit, i guess that's y they're so cheap u can call 'em 'throw away turbos' when it blows throw it away and get another since they're so cheap

Watch the flanges. The "direct" replacement K03 for my A4 has a flange that fits NOTHING. Completely random flange.
Most are poorly balanced as well.
And, one guy on the Audi board bought one with a "warranty," but the company wouldn't take it back when he found out it wouldn't fit.

Avoid.

go to homemadeturbo.com and ask them how well these work. lol terrible avoid at all costs. You have about 1 in 10 chance thet you'll get a good one that will last 75k miles. other than that you've got about a 10k turbo for $200

there are ups and downs to getting these turbo's off ebay...you get what you pay for...but when you get a good one they normally last a pretty good time...but in all honesty spend the money and do it right the first time...

You have me very intrigued, but I am wondering if it is just for one size or is it for any size?

i beleive right now he has GT35R's in DBB..we actually have one on our shop SRT-4 and it puts 500hp to the wheels and spools at 3100 rpm.

AR 70 compressor AR 63 hot side.

he also has journal bearing turbo's starting at $175 with the same great customer service and warranty

the xspower turbo's have a pretty good following in the supra community

Lookin for a hot side of around 1.07ish. .63 would choke what I am planning to do.

you might want to look into getting a holset HX35 or HX40. both of those would offer a larger exhausr side that you are looking for and can be found for about 250-300 bux on ebay
