finding wheel bearing
ok, I've spent about an hour of my vacation searching as well as about 20 phone calls while in peak minutes yesterday looking for outer bearing(s) and seal for the rear axel.
Had this 1st gen for about a day and 60 miles. which BTW is the most experiece I've had with a SA22. the rear outer axel behind the caliper is leaking pretty good. I go back to work sunday. so I'd like to get it done before then, but I cant find parts.
You guys got any tips on finding the bearings/spacers/collars/ or retaining rings for the outer rear axel?
BTW I found NOS rear axel seal at university mazda.
In my search at rx7club.com one guy mentioned napa, gonna try them in about 15 Min (MST).

As it happens, I got the bearings, seals and collars at NAPA last month. But it took some digging to get the collars, which they didn't show in their catalog at first, but the old-timer behind the counter knew a way to find such things.
Mazdatrix and rockauto each show the collars in their catalogs.

I found all my bearings and hardware at www.rockauto.com. So far they have had every part I've need for my 85 GSL. Give them a try!

I just went into O'reilly's when i got the car, told them what I wanted, and they put it all on order and 3 days later came back and picked it up. I redid my whole front, and bearings and shocks in the back. It's not racing parts, but 5000 (I think) miles later the suspension is still good. I have an 82 GS, i don't how that compares to what you have.
Now if you are looking for people who have stuff in stock. I have never found that. Always have to order stuff and have it shipped to the store.

To the OP: Most of the chain parts stores have online cataloges that you can use to look up part info. I use this service frequently, as I live quite a ways out of town. I then call the store, and have them order what they don't have, or set it aside if they do have it.
I was surprised to find that the store I usually go to (local warehouse and retail store combined) actually stocks a decent selection of parts for my 25 year old, oddball sports car. Things like rear caliper kits and rear disc pads, master cyl, and even axle/wheel bearings and seals were on the shelf, waiting for me to pick them up. Heck, I can even have them sent to a store that is about 7-8 miles from my house, if need be.
