Calling all smart butts....

Do you know if the body can come off? there a some screws under the body with plastic
on them. What are they for?

The car is a unibody design, which means the body IS the frame. No removal is possible.

As far as the car is concerned, you bought yourself a FANTASTIC parts car. With the mileage on the drivetrain, accessories, and interior, you are sitting on a goldmine of parts just begging to be transplanted into a dead host.

In fact, replacing a clutch is super easy when the engine and transmission are out of the car!

 

Well, thank you very much....Because this is what the car should have been truthful listed as a parts car.

 

Yea thats pretty significant rust. The front is nothing to worry about, but the rear area is. Very similar to my daily driver. Hard to justify saving it. I'm sorry to have to tell you that. But if it runs good otherwise, then find a body in better shape thats cheap/free and swap the parts into it. For now just drive it. Just like Farleytron said. But again for the $ if its a good running 7, then its not a bad deal. Usually these cars are thrown away cause of mechanical/engine failures. Thats why non running but otherwise good 1st gens go for so cheap.

 

I have a rust FREE TN car I am selling with a 2nd gen motor for $600 but if you just need the body/frame and wanted to swap your stuff into it I will pull the motor and sell it for $$300 no rust anywhere......it's an 85..

 

Well, Quagmire, I would not refund anything. I might've sent her a good used pressure plate if I felt bad, but that's it. It is not the sellers responsibilty. Once the money is transacted the car is your baby. Ask questions and do what you need to do to check out the car to your satisfaction, BEFOREHAND. Do not pay if you're not satisfied. It is that simple. As as seller, I understand this.
I have bought and sold cars on ebay and have had similar problems when buying. I didn't go bitching to the seller about wanting money back, and I had much more reason to do so than you do now. Bottom line is that it was my fault for not checking it out.
You put an ad on ebay and you do the best job you can selling it. This "honesty is the best policy" is a great way to think, but let's face it. It doesn't sell cars. If you put every little thing that's wrong with the car people will not bid on it. Believe me, I tried it. It's kind of like the adversary system of law. Even more exemplified at car dealerships... I am not saying it is okay to be shady or lie about the condition, but you should realize they might be sugarcoating something.
It is your job as a buyer to do your homework. If not, I got no sympathy for you.

 

It is come out that ok to be shady and dishonest...it like false advertising and that is against the law.

 

But these people did the right thing because they are good honest people and will
someone close thread....because has been hard for me. I am sure this is really upseting him too. So lets just leave it alone. I only want to look at the good in people.
