eBay Lights

eBay Lights
Hey guys just seeing if anyone is running any of those eBay diamond cut lights. Are you pleased? Did you change bulbs with any of your own? Did you like the lights they came with? Etc Etc. I'm looking for a nice looking diamond cut light with a much better light over the sealed beams while not breaking my budget nor overloading the electrical system. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

I have no experience with those lights. If I was to recommend a good replacement lamp for a decent price it would have to be the Sylvania sliver stars. The light is a very nice white(not that bluish crap), not offensive to oncoming drivers. Has a very nice spread across the road and a very nice high beam.

The good thing that we are blessed with right off the start is that we have the old fashioned 7 inch round lights that last along time. I have used the Hellas with the replaceable bulb in them and they are also great. The Sylvanias will set you back between $25-$30 for a set depending on where you find them. The Hellas are around $40 a piece for them.

Are the Black Dragon clear cut lights the same as the eBay ones? Looks like the ebay one's come with the gay blue bulb and the BD ones a white bulb. Would the Sylvania's still work with the clear lights or would I still need to use the sealed beam housing?

Doc, I have found that the Phillips Xtra-bright bulbs are brighter and whiter (and a lot cheaper) than the Silverstars...
Here is what I base this opinion on: My Audi lost one light, so I replaced it with the Phillips. A few days later the other one went out, but they were sold out of the Phillips so I paid the extra $$$ for the Silverstar bulb. After I installed it, I could tell right away that it was not as bright as the Phillips (and had a worse lighting pattern). Just to be sure, I switched the bulbs around (to eliminate the possibility of a wiring issue) but the results were the same. So I paid twice as much for a bulb that is not nearly as bright, and it has that damn blueish tint to it too (not really bad, but enough to bug me)...

I've got the diamond cut ebay headlights and replaced the bulbs with the silverstars. I'm really happy with them so far. They look a lot better too, the silverstar direct replacement is not clear like the ebay set. I'll post up some pictures after work.

These are the silverstar sealed stock replacement lights,
Heres the ebay ones with the bulbs they came with, I've since changed them to the silverstars and removed that little blue city light bulb.
During installation, I left one old sealed silverstar and one with the ebay light and ebay bulb and the light was much brighter and crisper. Also, this was with the rerouted wiring connected to the battery.
Hope this helps
