Champion racing ones are the best there not 3 row. Most of the 3 row ones on ebay are so small that a real 2 row will have more fin hole space then a fake 3 row . Plus champions come with warranty and everything fits perfectly.

You can always add an independent stand alone trans cooler in front of the rad. They are pretty cheap and easy to plumb.

Jose,

You might try contacting 7s Only at Buttonwillow Raceway. The owner Tom Dragoun has been messing with RX7's for a very long time. He has piles and piles of 1st gen parts and may have a good radiator. He wants to clear out all his RX7 stuff, so I am sure you could get a good deal if he has what you need. He also has a couple of caged race cars, a street RX7 and multiple parts bodies in case you need something larger ;-) I picked up some rebuildable rear brake calipers a couple of weeks ago and I think I saw 40-50 FMOC''s

Here is the contact information 7

PS You should have pulled the radiator when you were in Oceanside ;-)

My dad told me to take the rad and FMOC but I'm a stubborn person. I told him " Mine is fine I just had it rebuilt ". I guess I should listen to him haha.

I bought and installed this one recently. The welding quality looks mediocre at best, I'm not a welding expert but it pretty standard china aluminum rad quality. Fit is nice on the car, need to drill out a couple mounting holes. It has the threads for hanging the oil cooler underneath in the stock location. Does not have the bung for low coolant level sensor. My car runs about 10f or 5c lower than with the old factory unit.

So I bought the LAST spectra unit from the 50% ebay seller , he shipped today .
Looking at his history the person who gave him a bad review said the vendor took over a month to ship but his good review said he sourced a rare heater core for a mustang that worked great.
Also , if you are making 5-10 deg better temps than a tired old brass unit that is 40 + years old, that radiator probably performs worse than a new brass unit. I'm not against aluminum units, i would buy a perfect fit one instantly , just kind of warey of the china express quality .
Thank you all for the help.

that was 5-10 degree just cruising and not putting a lot of temp into the coolant. Not sure what you expected it to do? the car still uses a t stat so it's not like it would drop the temps by 500 degrees or anything. The factory rad would creep in temp to 90c-105c after harder driving or sitting in traffic, the aluminum one doesn't do that, it stays at 85c tops or 1c higher than the efans kick on.

Final update .
The Spectra Ebay rad came in yesterday , aside from a small dent on the bottom tank and being filthy , The rad looks new ! But it's 2022 and what appears to be a fine young woman may have secrets when looking beneath the surface so you have to call in some experts. So I took it to get preasure tested and it came back solid !
The test was free but I tipped the man . He also told me he REPAIRS radiators, someting they had told me they don't do anymore a few years ago.
Anyways , I have bouts of insomnia where i just google things for an abnormal anount of time , the champion radiator had a design change and is not a bolt on anymore and will NOT work with auto trans , the original design is almost identical to the oem brass but aluminum AND works with the auto trans . The thing is the vendors say it doesn't because the new one doesn't and they are the "same" part number.

So if you guys are looking for an aluminum rad BUY the champion CLONE's on ebay that are designed to work with automatic trans. Those will bolt on perfectly as they are part for part clones of the ORIGINAL , champion THREE row rad. The new ones are two row and "work" with 79-83 12 A engines but they just made a funky rad that wont fit any of those years perfectly.
