Easy shift boot fix

I finally figured out a way to fix the broken shift boot mounting pins on my shift boot plates (the pins are broken off all four of the plates in my inventory).

I cut a piece of stryrofoam, using the shift boot as a template:

This is inserted underneath the boot and plate, filling the space between the tranny and boot (I added another rectangular piece of styrofoam, about 2-3 inches wide and 5 inches long, to fill the gap toward the front of the shifter).

The styrofoam holds the boot against the plate very nicely. So far it is holding up well and the tranny heat is not damaging the styrofoam.

I epoxied small stove bolts into the original pin positions and then just held the boot on with nuts.. works really nice and is basically like the stock system of mounting, except its strong.... and works.

After a week of commuting and 500 miles, I got curious to see if I have any stryofoam left. Still looks and works good.
