E shaft info... needed

Are the woodruff keys located on the exact same place on the E shaft? (i.e. if the front key is at 9 o'clock, is the flywheel key at 9 also)?

I can't recall. Are you still working out issues with timing?

Actually, I somehow managed to 'luck out' and messed with the distributor a bit and it started. Now I need to tweak the carb a little and set my idle. I did do some looking around and saw other e shafts with all of the keys to one side. I figured they might be offset 180 deg for balance, but didn't look to be, thanks for asking.

Yeah, I think the balance issue is solved by the counterweight rather than by key positions. As for the distributor and timing, it's just a matter of placing the mark on the pulley in alignment with the timing pin on the front cover. Then align the mark on the distributor gear with another mark on the end of the distributor case and insert the distributor into its hole. Then it's simply a matter of hooking up a timing light (cheap ones go for $50) to confirm that the leading plugs are firing at the proper time.
