This is the fan you need if you are going the taurus route. Ignore the messy engine bay, I am revamping everything at the moment.

Currently held on by 3 screws, one on each side and the 4th side has been cut for the lower rad hose.

Don't know anything about the SHO fans. The Mr2 fans definitely look better in there imo. That pic of the last fan is it. They used them in more cars then just the taurus. You Could wire it in, so when the key turns on The fan turns on. Or how I would do it is with a temperature sensor. Both ways you will need a relay. On my jeep I had a temperature sensor from a wrecked daytona(nabour had a wrecked one) I got a peace of dowel tap it with Ntp welded it to a pipe and put it in the upper rad hose...... When i did my buddy's Toyota truck we just tap it into the thermostat housing much easier. I had it wired in with a 3 position switch so that the first position was fan off(crossing water) second position was temperature sensor controlled low , and third was manually hi. Worked great if you need help with the wiring and relay (if you go that route) I could draw you really easy pic to follow.

I just went and got the MR2 setup from a local junkyard and its from 85-89 according to the guy there. Apparently in AZ the mr2 fans are worth their weight in money tho cuz they cost me $90. My fault for going to the toyota specific junkyard 15 minutes before close i guess

I was thinking about getting a Taurus fan, because the width is pretty much perfect. i didn't even know about the mr2 though. that looks like it might be even better.

WOW...that does seem high....you can get a new Hayden electric fan fromn the parts store for about that much...

The new one might not flow as much, but it will have a warranty....

I installed the Mr2 fans in my '81 FB last night and just wired them on all the time with a relay until i can get a temp switch. They seem to move a ton of air, so i'm going to use one as always on and the other as aux. The setup was very easy and required only minor cutting similar to that of the taurus setup. It looks very factory tho cuz the shrouds ar metal, and i left the warning stickers on.

I linked a pic because it was too huge to post directly

P.S. the bracket i made was just to get it working since this is my daily and the crank fan clutch gave up so did that all in about 20 minutes. With a little more time and thought it could easily be made to look cleaner

Did some digging and can't find anything. Only thing I found is the taurus fan (single fan Ford 8C607) flows 2500 on low and 4000 on high, advertised.

I might have an answer for ya in about an hour, I think I am on a lead here
