e-fans

is there a noticable difference in power after replacing the stock fan with the e-fan? i found a fan at autozone for $50 and an adjustable thermostat for $20. i haven't checked into the taurus e-fan yet though.

I noticed my engine liked to rev a little faster. But I converted my car to e-fan before I got a chance to drive it with the clutch fan. I hated the sound of it. Sounded like a tornado was going through the engine bay.

Yeah, it's amazing all right. But just not true unless you have a seized clutch.

An e-fan does cut down on engine load a little so it feels more responsive, and frees up a few effective horsepower throughout the powerband.

Well, I will never go back to the clutch fan. My car runs at a very nice temp. with it. Well, I barely have to turn it on. There have been times when I have forgot to turn it on (on a seperate switch) and the car barely goes over 1/4 on the gauge. This is after half an hour of driving too. But thats partly due to the fact that my oil cooler is mounted in front of the radiator and I have a larger 85 rad. Lots of cooling ability.

I just finished mounting my $60 16" schucks fan. Now i just need to install the temp switch. I definately agree that e-fan is the way to go. Oh, and good luck mounting, my was a PITA!!!

well, i had an e-fan and went back to the stock clutch fan. a good one in working order. my car has never sounded like a tornado and i never have to worry about temps. i didnt feel a difference in performace leaving the e-fan. although, i will probably go back to an e-fan to make more room for the intercooler pipes. just my nonsense.

If your fans clutch is working properly it shouldn't sound like a tornado. I noticed a definate improvment by going to my black magic m150. I don't know about 14, but maybe 5hp. It revs faster and seems a bit more responsive. I did it mainly for cooling reasons, so power wasn't a major concern.

i got that tornado sound and my friends make fun of me. once smog is done i have a straight pipe waiting for me, an e-fan swap, and DLIDFIS ignition install. then we'll see who's laughing. i'll smoke hondas with my 12a once i get it tuned properly.
