you will have better performance but you will have to change a bit, maybe even rear end swap if you dont know how to weld. you will need the parts; and have to upgrade master cylinder calipers, mounting bracket. alot of things envolved, is worth it though.

You will get better braking performance from the disc. If you switch out the complete rear end from an84-85 GSL you will gain a limited slip differential wich will give you better gearing and better traction. Hope that helped!

Just find a complet rear end with disc and you wont need to do anything different just pull out the old and put this one in its place. Almost forgot you will also need the rear brake line and parking brake.

Yes you would have to change the whole rear end. But make sure you get a GSL rear end not a GSL-SE because you will have to find new rims because tey have a different bolt pattern.

The stopping distance for drum brakes is shorter than GSL disc brakes.

So the performance would be worse in that aspect.

yeah, basically, you're just gaining fade resistance going over to disk brakes.

Ok, first post what year your car is?

If you did a search you would have found several post on this thread that makes more sence then what your being told.

OK, here is the skinny on this,

You will want to get the complete rear end with disk brakes, parking brake cable and the drive shaft. Depending on your year you might need different fittings for the brake lines.

81-83 are interchangeable
84-85 are interchangeable

if you have a 79-80 try to get a 81-85 with all the parts listed above.
The swap is a easy 2-3 hour job and your back up and running.

Disk is not a big difference but the limited slip rear end is a huge plus. You could just swap in a LSD chunk and keep your drum brakes.

Agreed. The rear brakes do little work, and the drums are quite adequate.
