don't do it...your car already looks beautiful...can't tell from the pictures or not whether you have a sun roof or not but if you don't you should think of putting in an aftermarket sunroof...personally I don't like the look of an fb in convertable

no, what i want is a targa top first gen. thatd be badass. ill probably end up fabricating one about 5-10 years down the road

Geeezzzzz, what are you guys thinking? If you want a convertible, go second gen. Or better yet, get a Miata with a blown engine and stick a 13BT in it. Just kidding. No seriously, a targa on a first gen has been done before. I personally would do it to a cherry car, but if I had a basket case I was restoring from the ground up, maybe. If you build it, they will come.

Dont cut the top off the car - there was a service in Aus that used to
do these conversions - targa and drop top. unless you have quite a bit
of dexterity your going to ruin the car. I guy that does these conversions
charges 10grand and there is not a 1st gen in the world thats worth that
targa if anything but remember the comodity of having a drop top wears
off quick and the wind is unbearable. that is why their conversions
flopped!
