Dremmel the wonder tool
Well after the engine sitting in my garage for 4 weeks I finally got the 54mm socket off of the flywheel, unfortunetly I had to cut it off, used a dremmel and a carbide tip, ate rite threw that sucker. I stopped about 1/32 short of the eccentric shaft and tap it with a chissel and hammer and she spun off..
Since I had the dremmel out I started to lightly sand the front cover, started that so I kept going the front cover looks great I will post pics tommorow, I used a polish and it started to come out like a mirror, once I have everything shined up is there anything I can use to keep it that shiny, maybe a clear coat?
Thanks for your ear

Let me guess, this idea came about in this sequence:
1 look for biggest wrench around garage -nope
2 go to auto parts store and ask to laon 2-1/8 socket -nope
3 go to sears and leave gumbling about the price of a gd socket
4 drink a couple beers pondering sollutions and alievieng frustration
5 Ureka! drink 8 more beers, attemt to hold nut while room spins aound it.
6 catch glimpse of dremel out of the corner of eye...
Here's my ghetto method.
Take a 5lb mini-sledge and a big *** chisel, not one of those wood carvind ones, were're talkin tool steel farm equipment tools. Now get midevil on that nut. Just make sure you are driving in the right dirrection. I've successfully removed two this way, but the nut is pretty much trash after that. I have also had success installing it with a pipe wrench and a cheater bar for leverage. I bolted a long piece of angle iron to the flywheel side of the engine that locked my rear counterbalance (aftermarket flywheel) and kept the engine from rotating with the massive torque you have to tighten with.

I got my first flywheel nut off of an olf 12a a few weeks age I had to mount the engine down to the table with 2x4s and bolts locked the flywheel and use the appropriate socket and a RB 12 header I had laying around as leverage. a couple lunges and the little ****** came right off.

I used a chain to hold my flywheel to my custom strut brace (triangulated to firewall). But you could also use the mazdatrix flywheel holder which is great. I"ve also used like 3' of angle iron with two bolt holes in the right spots, bolted to the flywheel on one end and hitting the driveway on the other. To immobilize the flywheel.
Anyways. Forked out the dough and got the proper Craftsman socket and 3/4" breaker bar. Slid a 3 foot lead pipe over the bar and hit that mother with 2.5 lb hammer and pulled on it until it came loose.
PB B'laster helps out a ton. If the nut is rusted then look at the various rust neutralizers on the market first.
