Appx. how much sun do you get with glass roof?

Ive never owned a removable top rx7, but after last summer I now know that being drenched in the sun on a nice day is very important to me.

Im thinking of getting rid of my 83GS (Even though its the lightest) for another 83 with a removable glass roof. How much light do you get with it off? Would you say its like nothings there at all? Or is the remaining roof restrictive? Like it is on a Toyota matrix(with the sunroof open its still very shady inside)

Or if someone happens to know the width of remaining roof with the panel off, I would be very appriciative

Im just hoping its close to having a convertable.

i dont know if it's quite like that, if your watching the road you cant really tell but as soon as you look up at all. the front of the roof is about even where my head is.

Wouldn't own an RX7 without one - transforms the driving experience IMHO...
When I bought my 7 in San Diego, I flew down to PU WITH my glass roof panel! No way I was going to drive back to Alaska and not "see" the West Coast. Steel Panel has never been back on the car

i agree an disagree with what everyone's saying lol....i drove around with the metal one for months before i finally found a glass one locally, imho it makes the car feel a lil bigger inside since there's more light comming in, but u dont really notice the glass until u look at it, it is defenitly a very very nice piece and i wouldnt drive without it either tho lol

Having the glass sunroof give the 7 more of an open feeling inside. It really brightens up the car. Ive switched from the glass to steel before, and when I switched back to glass i could not remember why i ever put the steel roof back on. I think you'll enjoy it.

i would say it really depends on how tall you are

some of us need the sunroof up to fit our heads in there

I usually use the glass top in the winter (to get more sunlight) and the metal top in the summer (to get sun protection.
